Brunch/Smoked Jam Sammy
Rank: 204
The small beach town of Rehoboth, Delaware, has no business boasting a sandwich this good! It is actually crazy! Coming to Egg for breakfast should be a staple of anyone’s stay in Rehoboth, as it is the best way to start your day after taking in the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean.
Egg’s Smoked Jam Sammy is simply incredible! The savory breakfast delicacy has smoked Gouda, a poblano, bacon, and blackberry jam for a touch of sweetness. The country bread it is served on complements the sandwich beautifully, and the bacon is among the best I’ve had in my life. The blackberry jam blends superbly with this sandwich’s medley of flavors, pushing it over the top. It’s a glorious culmination of breakfast greatness!
Fries
Rank: 228
French Fries at the beach have a different meaning when you can have Thrasher’s. I must say this is the only place on my list where I need to give you specific instructions so you can fully experience the deliciousness of Thrasher’s.
You MUST, I repeat, MUST smother these fries in salt AND vinegar. They will have it on the side, and you have to ask for more; you need all of the vinegar and the salt. These fries should be drenched and dripping when you eat them, a pool of vinegar at the bottom of the bucket means you are doing it right. And equally as much salt to accompany that vinegar will be what you must do. Without doing both of these steps correctly, you simply will not understand the flavor potential of these fries.
Now that the instructions are out of the way, you can devour the best fries, which are just the fries I have had, and I simply don’t understand how they could be topped. While I have said that before about my food ultimatums, and I love to be proved wrong on those. For now, these fries are in a tier of their own for stand-alone value as a fry. Simply put, if you smother these fries properly, there are no other fries I would rather have by themselves. I have gone to get these fries on a cold day in January on the boardwalk, a hot sunny day in July, and a brisk day in March. And it was just as good every damn time. Smother them properly, and you will not be disappointed.
Bar/Crab Cakes

Rehoboth is flanked by other small shoreline communities, including Dewey Beach, which marks the next stop on Collin’s Grub Guide’s Delaware food tour. Delaware prides itself on crab cakes, and Woody’s is a must-stop for everything crab cake-related. The crab here just melts in your mouth and is packed with such amazing flavor. The next best crab cakes must only exist in the confines of Baltimore, MD.
Italian/Cheesy Garlic Bread
Rank: 354
True to its name, Touch of Italy provides Italian staples and basics, but does so exceptionally well. The garlic bread… chef’s kiss! This cheesy garlic bread is a must-order when you visit Touch of Italy. The rest of their menu is likewise fantastic, but if they were selling only this garlic bread with tomato sauce, that would be more than enough for me.
